The Scimitar Bass V is fully loaded featuring stunning good looks and a huge palette of sounds from one bass. The body is made of walnut with burr elm top. The seven piece neck of walnut and maple is bolted on using seven bolts. the face and back of the headstock are faced off with burr elm and the fretboard is snakewood. All finished in polyeurethane which enhances the beauty of the woods used and offers superior protection.
Hardware on the bass is all Schaller. The bridge is the Schaller 2000 bass bridge which is a well built bridge which offers great sustain and plenty of adjustment for string spacing, string height and intonation. The hardware colour is Ruthenium, a new colour from Schaller which is grey/ black depending on which way the light hits it. Pickups are Delano SBC 5 HE/S and the preamp is a Delano Sonar 3. They offer a huge variety of sounds, ranging from grinding metal to punchy slap and pop and everything in between. The strings are Newtone strings which are handmade by Malcolm Newton in England.
The fretboard is made of Snakewood, an unusual wood with beautiful grain that looks like snake skin. It is extremely hard (also called "Iron wood") and durable and adds extra stiffness to the neck. Along with the truss rod, there are two carbon fibre bars used to reinforce and strengthen the neck without adding any noticable extra weight. The bass is beautifully balanced and a comfortable weight for those long gigs!
This is a beautiful bass, well balanced, great sounding, built with the best components money can buy and with care and attention to detail. Options include Body wood, top wood, fretboard wood, bolt-on or neck through, hardware colour and finish.
